Description
Smoky, slightly spicy shredded chicken simmered in chipotle-tomato sauce,
stuffed in warm tortillas, topped with cooling cream, onions, and lime.
Street-food magic at home.
Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp oregano
- Salt to taste
- Tortillas
Toppings
- Sour cream or crema
- Sliced red onion
- Fresh cilantro
- Lime wedges
Steps
- Boil or pressure cook chicken until cooked; shred with forks.
- In a pan sauté onion & garlic.
- Blend chipotle + tomatoes to a smooth sauce.
- Add sauce to pan with cumin & oregano; simmer.
- Stir in shredded chicken, cook until saucy and flavorful.
- Warm tortillas.
- Fill tacos → top with crema, onion, cilantro, and lime.
